In the country of Cameroon shields were used for defense but now more so as decorative commemorative reminders of past important battles. The beautiful deep concise etchings have tribal significance. Though not at arms now the custom made armaments are very well crafted and make for excellent exotic wall decorations. The shield on display has been beautifully crafted from a native hard wood and pigmented clay. The shield features a simplistic raised wave design that creates an attractive grooved relief on the face. The selection is dark brown and cream. Due to natural wood grains, aging and the handmade attribute small nicks might be barely apparent. We believe that lends to the authenticity and charm of handmade art!
