When it comes to African art, in a visual sense, the Bamoun tribe artisans of Cameroon are the "Amazin' Bamoun." Their grand embellishments, elaborate stylizing and expert craftsmanship have created feasts for the eyes time and time again. When a Bamoun artist is commissioned to create a piece for a member of the royal court the grandeur escalates to new heights especially when the member is the king himself! Here is yet another example for us to enjoy. Bronze, the ultimate of artistic mediums was called upon to create an outstanding sword worthy only of the king. The oversized weapon was befitting for a man perceived to be a giant among men. Who else could wield such a creation but the Bamoun Fon? Forged by a gifted craftsman a grinning, confident kin, hollowed by the two rings cast around his head, serves as the hilt. The 51 inch long blade, a feat unto itself, tapers dramatically at the bottom creating a needle-like 2 inch tip. The Bamoun Royal Court Sword adds a touch of elegance to a room and quickly becomes the jewel of your collection.
