When we think of African art, statues and masks usually come to mind. However, since the earliest of times, Africans were and still are highly skilled jewelers. They make a wide variety of necklaces, chokers, pendants and countless other selections. On display is a bracelet handmade from the country of Burkina Faso. Colorful wire strips of yellow, blue, green or black are flanked by copper wires and integrated attractively together highlighting a lone large cowry shell. The bracelet is light weight, durable and can be tightened or expanded to fit any size wrist.
