We are so very pleased to be able to offer selections from the collection of Mr. Bah Abdoulaye a student of the late great founder of African Art history Dr. Roy Sieber. Mr. Abdoulaye selections will be on view at the Brooklyn Museum in New York 2015.

The light wooded statue was owned by an Ashanti family and placed on an alter in the home. During times of trouble the family member or members would stand in front of this figure and seek guidance from the object through prayer. Libations were pored and other gifts and adornments given in anticipation of a postive response.

Dimensions: 14 1/2 inches tall x 3 inches deep x 5 inches wide. The wood base is 1 1/2 inches tall bringing the total height to 16 inches.
A signed declaration of provenance from Mr. Abdoulaye will accompany this item.
